Peekskill’s Waterfront Advisory Committee is holding a public workshop on potential projects for the Peekskill waterfront. This is an opportunity to get your voice heard, learn about the process and help the Waterfront Advisory Committee build upon the many new developments that have occurred in the waterfront area in recent years.

This workshop follows a public workshop that was held in March identifying a vision for the waterfront and educating the public about key issues and opportunities that the LWRP needed to address.

The City of Peekskill is in the process of updating its Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP). The LWRP is a plan that is prepared by a Waterfront Advisory Committee made up of local residents, business owners and civic leaders, with the assistance of City staff and a team of planning consultants. Although the Committee prepares the LWRP with public input, the Common Council has the ultimate responsibility for adopting the plan.

Since the March workshop, the Committee has used public input, technical analysis and conversations with City staff and the City Council to come up with a list of potential projects, policies and land use recommendations that will benefit the Peekskill waterfront. The next step is to present these potential projects to the public for your input, comment and additional ideas.
