New York State annual Sheep and Wool Festival is this weekend—October 18 & 19—at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck.

The 3rd annual Hudson Hop and Harvest is this Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Peekskill Riverfront from 2p-9p. It will be hosted by Peekskill’s own Peekskill Brewery , 107.1 WSPK The Peak Radio Station and 100.7 WHUD Radio Station. Admissions is free and food and drink are pay as you go. There will be craft beer, live music, farm-to-table food and even a farmers market.
This year the Hop and Harvest will be going green. They are are asking all visitors to follow the Carry in/Carry out rules to reduce the garbage at the festival. The web site also says that all cups and serveware will be compostable. You can learn more about recycling and composting at the festival from Zero to Go.
