Winter Farmer’s Market Starts January 10, 2015

Start’s this Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Peekskill Field Library (wonder if there’s a late fee?)

A press release from the effort states:

<<The City of Peekskill announced that beginning January 10, 2015, the Peekskill Farmers’ Market, sponsored by the Peekskill Business Improvement District (BID), will have an expanded winter season. “The summer and winter farmers’ markets are important Peekskill family events,” said Jason Angell, Executive Director of the BID. He added, “The market introduces a wider audience to all that downtown Peekskill has to offer.”>>

From the Rhyming Metro-North Conductor

On the Hudson Line this past weekend, every station had a couplet. The faraway, soulful voice of a lyrical conductor announced each town in rhyme, and Peekskill had more lines than the rest. They went:

If you’re going to Peekskill
You’re in for a thrill
That’s the next request we’re going to fill
Peekskill

Weather: Elvis Costello’s Umbrella

Best email subject line of the day:

Nor’easter Is Heading Toward Westchester

Thanks, Peekskill Daily Voice newsletter!

If you actually want to read about the rain (and future sun), you can do so at the site here. If you prefer to listen to Elvis Costello singing “When That I Was and a Little Tiny Boy” from Twelfth Night with the accompaniment of saxophonist John Harle, you can hear about how the rain it raineth every day. And a hey, ho, the wind and the rain.
