What’s Up Peekskill? Is it me, or is it finally getting warm?

Okay, Peekskill, there’s nothing special going on. It’s not the first day of spring. It’s not mother’s day. It’s not the 5th. Not nothing. Just a simple weekend in May with warmer weather. But, since Peekskill Rocks, we can’t just let it be! So get off your lazy butts and come downtown where we got tons of live music, story telling, a film festival, an art opening, wine tasting, swing dancing, farmer’s market and more! Just another simple weekend in Peekskill!

Mardi Gras is Coming to Peekskill!

mardi-gras-peekskill-1000That’s right, Mardi Gras Madness Week will soon be here.  Presented by Paramount Hudson Valley and Go Peekskill.

The festivities will include specials and discounts at participating Peekskill restaurants all week long, a Friday parade and pub crawl, and Buckwheat Zydeco with special guests Professor Louie and The Crowmatix capping off the week with the Mardi Gras headline show on Saturday night at the Paramount Theater.

During Mardi Gras Madness week, diners at participating restaurants – including The Hudson Room, Gleason’s, The Birdsall House, The Peekskill Brewery, The Quiet Man, Ruben’s – can enjoy a 20% discount on Buckwheat Zydeco tickets at Paramount with proof of a dining purchase between 2/17/2015 and 2/21/2015. Some restaurants may have dinner & show packages available.

The Peekskill Music Festival: All Day Today

There are events all day and into the night at the main stage on Central Avenue, the gorgeously renovated Paramount Hudson Valley theater,  the bountiful Birdsall House (where The Flynns are playing at 1 pm in the beer garden), and, of course, the coffee house.

Free shuttle buses from the train station! You’re gonna kick yourself if you miss it, and you’ll kick up your heels if you come. Download the official flyer for all the info.
