What’s Up Peekskill? Father’s Day

It’s father’s day this weekend, so leave Dad alone to play with his power tools. Then tell him he promised to buy you ice cream, at the zoo, where a monkey can thrown poop at him. Happy Father’s Day Peekskill!

What’s Up Peekskill? Open Studios!

Peekskill Art Alliance’s annual Open Studios is this weekend. Get out and check out all our fantastic artists in studios, in homes, businesses and even in trucks. Yes, trucks. You can do a lot with a truck! I know a guy with a truck… You know, I don’t think Sam I Am ate green eggs and ham in a truck. In a car, yes. A boat, and with a goat, yes. But no, he would not, could not, in a truck. So with that knowledge tucked away, go see how our Peekskill artists P-rock in a truck.

What’s Up Peekskill? Memorial Day and Sun

Looking like a glorious Memorial Day weekend, folks. Get you grill cleaned up and get a fresh bag of charcoal, cause BBQ season has officially begun. And you can wear white again, just in time to stain your whites with bbq sauce. And don’t forget to take a pause on Memorial Day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Give ’em a P-Rockin’ salute.

What’s Up Peekskill? The Sun will come out!

Today is (was?) Bike to Work day. So if you didn’t, go home, get your bike, and go back to work. Yes, seriously! Saturday Fernando can be a Dancing Queen, Abbarama is at the Paramount. And Sunday is plant a vegetable garden day, so you can get dirty growing your own. You can also call it “organic”. Or as your grandparents called it, “food.” That’s my favorite fridge magnet I’ve seen for sale in the Peekskill Coffee House. But, whatever you wanna do, it looks like a gorgeous weekend, so get out your P-Rock and shake it.

What’s Up Peekskill? Mom!

Hey there P-Rockers, it’s Mothers Day this weekend so don’t go dissing your Mom. It’s rainy, so think bright and cheery. You can get her some plants at the plant sale at the Riverfront, or if you need to brace yourself for family time, there’s some whiskey tasting at Dylan’s in the afternoon. Then Don McLean will be drinking whiskey and rye at the Paramount that night. Rock out Peekskill.
